PENTA is guided by the Electronic Components & Systems (ECS) Strategic Research Agenda (SRA). The latest 2020 version of the ECS-SRA was published on 14 January 2020. The ECS-SRA is a living document, updated yearly.

Initiated by the three European industry associations AENEAS, ARTEMIS-IA and EPoSS, the SRA is a document created by over 200 European technology experts. It contains a technology roadmap for a digital Europe, as envisaged by industry, covering the key application areas, the R&D&I challenges and potential solutions along the entire value chain.

For the 2021 PENTA and EURIPIDES² Call, projects can be submitted in all areas of the SRA. However, as some countries have specific priorities in terms of funding criteria, project managers and partners are strongly urged to review their Project Ideas with the Public Authorities concerned at an early stage to ensure that there is close alignment between the project goal and national priorities.
